This weekend, I had the pleasure to attend London Anime and Gaming con (LAGC). I had not been able to attend this before although I have heard of it. I have attended Hyper Japan which sort of has similar experience only there’s lesser shops and Japanese stuff available to see and browse for at a larger venue. LAGC is a 2 and half day event and this year it run on a weekend February 5-7. There are other events after this and they are all over the country such as in Manchester on April 2-3, Bristol 7-8 May, Liverpool 4-5 June, another one in London 1-3 July, Cardiff 20-21 August and in Alcon 1-4 September.
Meeting like-minded people who share similar interests as you is always a fun venture especially perhaps in gaming where a negative perception is accommodated like how people who are labelled “nerds” or “geeks” play online video games are wasting their time. So, this weekend I was thankful enough to meet new people and make new friends. Some cool things I have learned are games such as Aeon, Ark and League of Legends (well I know about this one already I just never got into it) amongst many other things.
The 3 day event is organized with a structure however, the only ones I was able to get much out of was the party on the evening. If you like cos-playing a lot of people come to this event and dress up to their favorite anime characters which are always a cool thing to admire. Everyone is pretty much friendly and I prefer these kinds of events than London meetups as somehow I am more comfortable in these kind of environments. Did you attend London Anime and Gaming Con this weekend? If you did, we probably met and if you can’t remember me I probably most likely gave you my business card 😉 these magic cards have proven to be very valuable and useful to me.
